Four sheets, one chimp

Every sheet is the same translucent purple. The only thing that changes the colour is how many sheets you are looking through, so the image is built like a screen print in reverse: the back sheet is the whole silhouette and each sheet in front is cut away a little more.

The eye highlights are cut through all four. Stand square-on at eye height and they line up, and the piece snaps into a single flat image. Take a step to the side and it separates back into layers.
